Sidewalk Chalk
"The Burner"
I have to admit I was a little frustrated that night. It was totally clear that many of the boys did not build their own cars. Some of them were really cool, but the dads carried them in all wrapped in cloth and in special boxes so they didn't get ruined. I think what they should do is have every boy and his father make a car and let the dads have their own race. It just isn't fair to the boys who actually do all the work on their own.
I am just glad that Ammon had a good time. He is such a great boy!

Adam
I love love love my sweet husband. I am so lucky to have him. He is such a good man and the kiddos love and adore him (I do too)! It is so nice to have someone to love and someone to love you back. Being married is a wonderful thing. I can't imagine life alone. Adam is my other half. He completes me and makes me feel secure and whole. I am so glad that I found him and that we truly love each other with all our hearts. It is a neat thing to experience love as it grows. I thought I loved him 11 years ago, but it just keeps getting better. He is honestly the BEST!

Scottorn is 18 months!
Scottorn is 18 months today. Where has the time gone? He is a fun and sweet little guy. He is getting to be quite a handful. He is super-busy and loves to be loud, imagine that! He loves his family. He loves snuggling with daddy on the couch and he loves to play with Lily, probably because she always helps me with him. He loves to be outside and cries when we bring him in. He loves to explore and is getting into and onto everything. All the chairs are strapped to the table with bungee cords and all the stools are kept on the counter tops so that he cannot get on them. He climbs on the piano if the bench gets left out. He climbs on the dining room table and swings the chandelier and dances. He still loves the toilet, but thankfully the gate is helping with that for the time being. He has started trying to climb it so we will see how long that lasts. He loves our fake horse. He knocks him down and kisses him all over. He loves his little golden retriever webkin and kisses his nose when he snuggles him. He is starting to talk and says, "What is that?!", hot, uh oh, ouch, momma, dadda, he tries to say Lily, is starting to say thank you, he pants like a dog to say dog, signs more, please, Jesus and thank you. He is starting to hit and he thinks it is funny. He is surprisingly very strong and it hurts when he does hit. We are working on being calm. He doesn't like to share my lap. He thinks it is for him only. He loves to spin and laugh and stomp and yell and growl. He climbs all over the couches and beds and knocks everything off the girl's dresser. He takes two naps each day, both about an hour long. He is up between 5:30 and 6:00 every morning. I am hoping to move that to about 6:30, but he doesn't like that and screams until I get him. I have been getting him to bed around 7:00 this past week and I love it! He doesn't mind it so that is nice. He isn't a very good eater, too picky. I am also hoping to work on that. All in all he is just FUN! He makes me laugh and smile every day and often makes me a little crazy too, but I love him. He is ALL boy! He is a joy!

Lily's 7th Birthday!
Lily had a VERY FUN birthday. Grandma and Grandpa Barron came up the week before with cake, ice cream and presents and Valentine's treats and stayed for dinner. It was a fun afternoon and a good start to her birthday week. Friday she took cupcakes to school to celebrate with her class. Saturday was her party and we did a pancake breakfast. The kids had a lot of fun. We played doggy games, like "Fetch the Paper," "Doggy Doggy Where is your bone?" and an obstacle course! It was so fun watching them crawl all over the place! We had 11 kids show up, plus our four made 15 kids! It was crazy but fun! She was spoiled with wonderful gifts and loves them all. I think one of her favorites was her new Betta Fish, Stripes. She loves him and now she wants a hamster too! Thankfully Grandma Christy got her three Zhu Zhu's and a house. Hopefully she is set for awhile. :)
After her party we went to a friend's house to let her ride a horse. The horse was beautiful! Carmen was her name and her great grandfather was the first horse in the Nevada Quarter Horse Association. All the kids got a chance to ride. It was fun watching them. Horses are beautiful and Lily would also love a horse. I don't think we will ever get one though.
We went to Costco and got a pizza (Lily's choice for lunch) and went home to eat it with Cheetos and Soda. Good thing birthdays are only once a year! I can't handle all the junk food! She loved it though and had so much fun!

Nothing
So I just went to upload some pictures to make a post and my camera battery ran out so it couldn't import any pictures. Ha! I really don't have much to say.
The kids were all eating apples tonight. Scottorn had a Granny Smith, Lily a Red Delicious, and Ammon and Anna each had Pink Lady. They were all sitting on the living room floor chomping away. It was so cute! I love them!
Scottorn LOVES blueberries and is always standing next to the fridge signing "more" to tell me he wants some. Lately his fingertips have been stained from eating so many! He also loves the horse they got for Christmas. He walks up to it and kisses it then knocks it over so he can lay down on it and kiss it from head to toe. I need to get it on film. It is so cute. Actually, I do have it on my camera, but my camera isn't on right now :) Later.
Last week Ammon and Lily were chasing each other around and being rough as usual and Ammon "accidentally" (he says that too much) ripped Lily's earring out of her ear. She was hysterical and thought it was stuck in her ear. I had to explain that it was just where the hole in her ear was for her earring that she was feeling. It was a pretty crazy event. Lots of screaming and crying and then laughing. Ammon was a good big brother and found both the earring and the back to it. We were all crawling around the kitchen floor looking over every inch. Ammon said (before he found it) that whoever found it got $15. I told him he could pay it since he was the one who made it come it. He came out even :)
Scottorn continues to love playing in the toilet, with the toilet paper, the toilet brush and the plunger. Gross, I know. Adam was saying how nice it would be to get him potty-trained and I laughed and said that as long as he thinks it is a toy we will have NO luck there. Funny kid he is! My favorite is when I have just bathed him and got him nice clean clothes and we are all ready for the day and someone leaves the door open and then I hear him swishing around in the water. It is even better when Anna forgets to flush and then he has a little something more than water to play with. BLAH! :( He thinks it is great though because then he gets a second bath, which he LOVES plus he got to play in the toilet and he already had a first bath. So that works out to three fun outings with water all in one morning. What a lucky boy!
Anna is learning to write her name and LOVES preschool. She asks everyday if it is a preschool day. She loves to sing and color and dance and dress up. She goes through about six different outfits or dress-ups every day. There is constantly a pile of clothes on her floor. I can't keep it clean. She inherited Lily's old bike and we put the training wheels on it. She loves it so much. I keep using that word, I guess I LOVE the word LOVE! You can't help use it when you talk about her though (well any of my kids for that matter!) The other day she rode it for over an hour straight. Back and forth on the back porch. Her poor bottom didn't appreciate that. A few things she says that I absolutely adore are "Strawberry Cake Cake" and "Seriously!" She is a true character and is so much fun! She is always making me laugh. She is very expressive and has two volumes, LOUD and LOUDER! Quiet is something we are working on fitting into her vocabulary.
Lily LOVES school. She loves her teacher. She loves her friends. She loves homework. She loves to learn. She loves to read. She actually gets upset with me if I tell her to stop doing her homework! She is so different than Ammon in that regard. She stills loves her best friend Jordan. She is doing well with the piano. She has a loose tooth, her first! She said tonight that she wanted to grow her hair long like Rapunzel's. I don't think that will ever happen. She hates snarls and that is why she loves her hair short. I think it is cute on her, but I do miss her long hair. Oh, Scottorn loves Lily to pieces. She is so good to him. He always wants her to hold him and he loves her animals. She gets mad when he takes them though because he slobbers all over them when he kisses them. But, she loves him to pieces too!
Ammon is doing well in school and is such a good boy. He knows what is right and I am always so proud of him when he tells me about things from school or with friends that aren't right. I am glad he is observant and is recognizing things. He loves Scouts and friends and wants a new bike. Our neighbor said he could have his old one, but we are waiting for it. I wonder if it would be rude to go over and ask for it? We gave his bike to Lily, which we are going to paint pink for her. Anyway, he wants a bike. He is also doing well with piano but his heart is set on the electric guitar. Why?! I do not like it. I told him he has to learn on an acoustic first and then electric. That will be several more years, I hope! He really enjoys reading and although he says he doesn't always love school I think he does.
Adam is as wonderful and great as ever. Actually, I think he is better. I love how my love for him keeps growing. It just keeps getting better and better. I love him more all the time. I see how much he does and who he is and I feel so happy to be his. Life is good. He is so busy with work right now but we are so glad he has so much! He should be finishing up tomorrow with his first trial. He has done a few others, but this one he was first chair on and has done it all himself. Although he has been so tired and stressed, he has loved it. I love when he practices what he is going to say on me. It is fun to watch him. I am glad he loves his work because I can honestly say that I would not like being a lawyer. He is so good at it though!
Funny that I titled my post "Nothing," and then said I didn't have anything to say...I guess I was wrong. I had A LOT to say. Hopefully I will remember to charge my camera tomorrow so I can post some pictures. They are always better than words!

August - December
So I have obviously been horrible about blogging. Certainly not on my priority list. I used to do well, but then I started keeping a journal and my blog fell to the wayside. I used to use this as my journal. I have really enjoyed keeping a personal journal, but I do miss not updating my blog at least semi-regularly. So, in an effort to catch up I will sum it all up simply.
August: Anna turned three. Scottorn turned one and started walking. Ammon and Lily started third and first grades.
September: Anna started preschool and I canned pears, pear jam and pear syrup. Ammon, Lily and I started taking piano lessons.
October: Adam and I ran the Bizz Johnson Half Marathon in Susanville, CA. Adam turned 34. Made homemade doughnuts and root-beer and had friends over for Halloween.
November: Sewed 24 aprons for a craft fair. The kids were off-track. Two of my very best friends moved out of state :( My dad and Tykota came out for Thanksgiving and we all drove to Sacramento to Adam's parents. Adam's brothers came. It was fun to get together.
December: I turned 30! Lily got her ears pierced. Adam and I dressed up, I in a formal and he in a three piece suit for his Christmas party. Christmas with all it's fun and magic. We went to parties, caroling, bowling, sledding, luminaries and ginger bread houses.
I am going to try to post twice a month this year so this will count as one!
