Sidewalk Chalk

Ammon can climb all the way to the top of this light pole, but he was so tired from having done it so many times already that this was as far as he could make it. He also climbs up the door frames in our home and we have the taller doors. He is an amazing climber. Maybe Scottorn gets it from him.

You can't see Lily's picture well, but she drew Rapunzel and the lanterns. Ammon drew a boy being run over by a car with his guts spilled out! Girl vs. Boy. It is so funny.

"The Burner"

Ammon had his first pinewood derby this year. I am really proud of him. He designed and built his car all on his own. Adam helped with the sawing, but Ammon did everything else. We made suggestions and showed him designs, but he didn't want anything but what he had in mind. I feel bad because he lost every race, but he was such a good sport. He even said after it was over, "I still got an award and I lost every race!" Talk about optimism! (I guess he didn't realize that everyone got an award). Next year I think he has a good idea about what to build so he does better. It didn't help that his car was only three ounces. He didn't like my idea of weights in it. I think he will go for it next year.
I have to admit I was a little frustrated that night. It was totally clear that many of the boys did not build their own cars. Some of them were really cool, but the dads carried them in all wrapped in cloth and in special boxes so they didn't get ruined. I think what they should do is have every boy and his father make a car and let the dads have their own race. It just isn't fair to the boys who actually do all the work on their own.
I am just glad that Ammon had a good time. He is such a great boy!

My Little Climber

Yes that would be my little climber on top of the chair that is ON TOP of the table! Yikes! He keeps me on my toes. All of our chairs are on top of tables and counters or strapped to the tables. This kid is daring!

Adam

I love love love my sweet husband. I am so lucky to have him. He is such a good man and the kiddos love and adore him (I do too)! It is so nice to have someone to love and someone to love you back. Being married is a wonderful thing. I can't imagine life alone. Adam is my other half. He completes me and makes me feel secure and whole. I am so glad that I found him and that we truly love each other with all our hearts. It is a neat thing to experience love as it grows. I thought I loved him 11 years ago, but it just keeps getting better. He is honestly the BEST!
