Adam is 33!
We had a fun time celebrating Adam's birthday. We started by having a yummy breakfast of french toast and orange juice on Saturday morning. Then we spent the whole day playing together. The kids love playing with their fun daddy so much! Saturday evening Adam and I went to dinner while our awesome neighbors watched the kids. I surprised Adam Saturday morning with a card t let him know I had lined up babysitting and dinner. My neighbors were so excited to have the kids over. Thy played the Wii, splashed in the hot tub and their little pond, played with their dogs, colored, made worms in mud for dessert, and just had a great time. Scottorn was a good little baby too. He slept almost the whole time and was happy for the tiny bit he was awake!
Adam and I were able to enjoy our dinner and talking. It was nice to be with him. It was a warm day and evening and s we went for a little walk when we got back. I had on a short sleeve shirt and didn't even need a jacket! It was so nice!
On Monday we hamburgers for dinner, Adam's choice, and then cake and ice cream. The kids were so excited to help blow out the candles. Adam only wanted three but I said he needed all 33 for the kid's sake! Lily said, "That's a lot of fun when you have a lot of candles!" The kids made picture frames for Adam out of foam paper. They turned out cute!
Adam and I went shopping the week before his birthday and bought him a bunch of new clothes for work. That was his birthday present from me. He got a ton of great stuff and for an excellent price at Kohl's. I love that store!
I am so thankful for a wonderful husband who gives us such a great reason to celebrate his special day! I love you Adam!

His Name: Scottorn, Scott or Joseph
Ammon tie-dyed this onsie for him. I think he looks so cute! This was taken on Monday night. So we named him Joseph Scottorn McMillen, but we are calling him Scottorn "Scott-orn" or Scott. Scottorn is a last name on Adam's father's mother's side. Joseph was my father's father's father's name, my Great-Grandpa Joe. We loved both names and had a hard time deciding which one to give him, so we gave him both. It makes it hard though because I want to call him both. Anyway, if you prefer Joseph, you may call him that.
He is almost seven weeks and still growing tons! Last Wednesday he was 12 pounds and 23.5 inches and today he is 13 pounds! He is nearly out of his 0-3 month clothes! He is such a sweet little guy and we love him to pieces!

Ammon's tooth continued
When I picked up Ammon from school today he said he found half of his tooth in his bag of carrots in his lunch bag. Weird! I haven't the slightest idea how it made it into his lunchbox. Maybe he'll get half the money from the tooth fairy. I think he was very happy he got to show his tooth to his class. I am wondering what his teacher thought about it, probably oh gross!
Another tooth bites the dust!
On Monday afternoon Ammon and Lily were wrestling/rough housing and Lily accidentally kicked Ammon in the face and out came a tooth! If you remember, the same thing happened last fall. How would it be to have your sister kick out two of your teeth?! His tooth was ready to come out. He bit into an apple for a snack at music class that afternoon and was upset because it really hurt. I could see that his tooth was bleeding. I am glad Lily helped him get it out so now it won't bother him. He was upset when it first came out and cried. It is funny how kids associate blood with pain and then cry even if it doesn't hurt. He was excited after he cried and put it in his backpack to take to school, but when he got there yesterday it was gone and now he is sad that he doesn't have any money for it. I suggested this morning that he leave the tooth fairy a note to explain what happened! Kids are great. I know he doesn't believe in the tooth fairy, but he pretends.
You can barley see his fat lip, he didn't want me to take his picture. Maybe I should stop letting Ammon and Lily play rough. Last night Lily accidentally kicked him in the face, again, and this fat lip was the result. It may seem like Lily is always hurting Ammon, but it actually quite the opposite.
One Month, Already!
09/29/09
So I didn't take a picture on the 28th, but here are several right around him being one month. I can't believe it has already been one whole month. Scottorn is such a joy! He is a very happy and easy baby. He is a good sleeper and doesn't cry too much. He is learning about crying though and is doing more of it, but still not too much. The first two weeks or maybe closer to three, he hardly cried at all. He is so mellow. I absolutely love having him around and the kids love him too! They love to hold him. Anna loves to pet his head and kiss him and she always says,"Cute baby cute!" She loves her baby brother so much!
On 9/2/9, almost one week, he was 20 inches (they can shrink after they are born because their heads aren't as cone shaped as when they are born) and he was 7 lbs 8 oz. At almost three weeks (9/16/9) he was 21 1/2 inches and 9.2 lbs! So, in two weeks he grew an inch and a half and gained 1 pound 10 ounces! That is 13 ounces a week! I thought Anna was gaining a ton, an average of 8 ounces a week. This little guy may just end up being a chubbier baby than his big sister was! Today, on my scale he is 11 1/2 pounds, but that is with clothes and a diaper, so probably around 11. He is getting chubby everywhere and I love it! He is so much fun!!!! It is funny how much I love to hold him. I miss holding him at night while he is sleeping, even though he is right next to me on the bed. I remember feeling that way with Anna too. It is amazing how a mother's arms long to hold her baby. I feel so blessed to have him and my other three children as well. I truly have everything I could ever ask for.

Scottorn's First Outing on the Boat
We took the boat out to Pyramid Lake on Labor Day weekend. The kids had fun playing in the sand and Adam was able to get in a turn on the wake board and the slalom. The water wasn't great, but we all had fun. We took the boat out again on Labor Day up to Boca. It is a pretty lake. It is getting too cold to go out anymore. I am sad because I really would like to get out again. Vegas is the best place to live for boating at this time of year! We had a great time at lake Mead last fall! We love it here though.
Ammon pouting because daddy got him wet!
